Mentoring Program (Classes XI and XII)
Program Modules
(Beginning class XI; between April and March next year)
Module 1
• Breaking the ice session.
• Establish rapport and build trust with the aspirant to foster a robust mentor-mentee relationship.
• Provide an overview of the program, outlining expectations, timelines, and resources available.
• Devise a plan to secure Super8 credentials.
• Take an overview of the aspirant’s approach towards her regular studies, give suggestions for improvement.
• Give 2 writing assignments of 1 page each to the aspirant.

Module 2
• Take stock of the progress on the Super8 credentials. Suggest ways and means for accomplishing them. Set deadlines for the same.
• Discuss the 8 Ivy League institutions in the US, their unique legacies, and some of their most popular courses..
• Take an overview of the aspirant’s regular studies, give suggestions for improvement.
• Review the writing assignments submitted in advance by the aspirant.
• Give two fresh writing assignments of 1 page each to the aspirant.
• Give the aspirant a topic for the 10-minute discussion in the next session.
Module 3
• Review progress of the Super8 acquirements. Ensure continued efforts for assorted credentials on various fields.
• Discuss top-10 US institutions, other than the Ivy Legue institutions, along with their leading programs.
• Take an overview of the aspirant’s regular studies, give suggestions for improvement. Help the aspirant set her academic goals. Suggest additional readings for general awareness.
• Review the writing assignments submitted in advance by the aspirant.
• Give two fresh writing assignments of 2 pages each to the aspirant.
• Hold a 10-minute discussion with the aspirant on the pre-notified topic.
• Give the aspirant a topic for the 10-minute discussion in the next session.
Module 4
• Review progress regarding the Super8 achievements. Suggest means to bridge the gaps, if any.
• Discuss another leading 10 US institutions and their eminent courses.
• Review aspirant’s regular studies vis-à-vis his academic goals. Suggest and share additional readings for general awareness.
• Review the writing assignments submitted in advance by the aspirant.
• Give two fresh writing assignments of 2 pages each to the aspirant.
• Hold a 10-minute discussion with the aspirant on the pre-notified topic.
• Give the aspirant a topic for the 10-minute discussion in the next session.
Module 5
• Review progress regarding the Super8 achievements. Start consolidating the efforts for securing the credentials.
• Share application forms of some leading US institutions to apprise the aspirant about the requirements for the admissions in such institutions.
• Review aspirant’s regular studies vis-à-vis his academic goals. Suggest and share additional readings for general awareness.
• Review the writing assignments submitted in advance by the aspirant.
• Give two fresh writing assignments of 2 pages each to the aspirant.
• Hold a 10-minute discussion with the aspirant on the pre-notified topic.
• Give the aspirant a topic for the 10-minute discussion in the next session.

Module 6
• Review progress regarding the Super8 achievements.
• Share application forms of some more leading US institutions to apprise the aspirant about the requirements for admissions in such institutions.
• Review aspirant’s regular studies vis-à-vis his academic goals. Suggest and share additional readings for general awareness.
• Encourage the aspirant to start looking for SAT coaching institutes.
• Review the writing assignments submitted in advance by the aspirant.
• Give two fresh writing assignments of 2 pages each to the aspirant.
• Hold a 10-minute discussion with the aspirant on the pre-notified topic.
• Give the aspirant a topic for the 10-minute discussion in the next session.

Module 7
• Review progress regarding the Super8 achievements.
• Start shortlisting some of the US institutions where the aspirant would ideally apply. Also start analysing the requirements for admissions in such institutions.
• Review aspirant’s regular studies vis-à-vis his academic goals.
• Review aspirant’s plans for SAT coaching.
• Review the writing assignments submitted in advance by the aspirant.
• Give two fresh writing assignments of 2 pages each to the aspirant.
• Hold a 10-minute discussion with the aspirant on the pre-notified topic.
• Give the aspirant a topic for the 10-minute discussion in the next session.
Module 8
• Start gathering certificates related to the Super8 achievements.
• Identify some more US institutions where the aspirant could potentiallyapply. Also start analysing the requirements for admissions in such institutions.
• Review aspirant’s regular studies vis-à-vis his academic goals, and her preparedness for the annual examinations.
• Review aspirant’s SAT coaching status.
• Review the writing assignments submitted in advance by the aspirant.
• Hold a 10-minute discussion with the aspirant on the pre-notified topic.

Module 9 (Beginning class XII; April to July)
• Consolidate the Super8 acquirements and make sure the outstanding credentials are expedited.
• Discuss status of studies in a new class and under a new set of instructors.
• Review the status of SAT coaching and the aspirant’s preparedness for the test.
• Hold a 15-minute discussion with the aspirant to let her explain how she has progressed through the mentoring program till then, and what are the tasks that remain to be accomplished.
Module 10
• Finalize the Super8 credentials and gather all the certificates for future use.
• Discuss the SAT test result.
• Finalise the US institutions where the aspirant would like to apply in the light of her SAT result and the score secured by her.
Module 11
• Do a detailed analysis of the application forms of one half of the institutions shortlisted during the Module 10 session, on the following:
â–ª Documents/information required to be attached;
â–ª SOP or Personal Statement, Prompts to be responded to, LORs etc.;
â–ª Provision for scholarship or funding support, and the strength of the aspirant’s candidature for the same.
Module 12
• Do a detailed analysis of the application forms of the second half of the institutions shortlisted during the Module 10 session, on the following:
â–ª Documents/information required to be attached;
â–ª SOP or Personal Statement, Prompts to be responded to, LORs etc.;
â–ª Provision for scholarship or funding support, and the strength of the aspirant’s candidature for the same.
Note : By the end of the Module 12, the applications for the US institutions get opened (1st August onwards).
Accelerated Mentoring Program
For those who are able to join only at the start of their XII standard studies, the 12 modules of the program shall be squeezed into 8 fortnightly sessions of 1.5 hours each.
